I was driving to the grocery store on the 4-lane this morning (of course; where else do I ever go), when I noticed a very large vehicle ahead. It was too far ahead for me to see exactly what kind of vehicle it was. At first I thought it might be the same kind of garbage truck that Jamie drives. Then I realized that it couldn't be, because it didn't have the flashing lights. Then I wondered if it could be one of those car haulers, but it didn't appear to have any cars on it, yet it still looked solid. It was traveling fairly slowly, so before too long, I managed to come up on it. Then I was able to see just what kind of vehicle it was.
It was a tour bus.
And it contained no other than --are you ready for this--
THE OAK RIDGE BOYS.
THE FREAKIN' OAK RIDGE BOYS.
Now, I'm not really a fan of country music, but come on, The Oak Ridge Boys? I was SO FREAKIN' EXCITED.
I passed the tour bus, and momentarily we came upon a red light, so I got to sit NEXT TO THE TOUR BUS until the light turned green! I was SO PUMPED!
I sat there, lookin' up at the bus, with its blacked-out tinted windows, grinnin' like a possum, and wondered what The Oak Ridge Boys were up to in there.
Reckon they were sittin' around in their jammies?
Reckon they were cookin' themselves a good ol' country breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits & gravy?
Reckon they were practicin'?
Reckon one of 'em was in the bathroom takin' a dump?
Before I knew it, the light turned green, and I had to go. But the whole way to the grocery store, and for several hours after that, in my head, was blaring "ELVIRA...ELVIRA...MY HEART'S ON FIRE...FOR ELVIRA! GIDDY-UP, A-OOM POPPA, OOM POPPA, MAU-MAU...GIDDY-UP, A-OOM POPPA, OOM POPPA, MAU-MAU...HIII-YO SILVER, A-WAY-Y-Y"!!! XD
As I neared the turn-off to the grocery store, I saw that there had been a car crash (not too bad), and cops were on the scene, and I wasn't totally sure if that particular lane was clear for me to turn off at the grocery store, so I went on up to the post office, turned around in their parking lot, and headed back toward the grocery store from the opposite direction, since I was sure that I could turn in from that way. The red light stopped me at Home Depot. And what was making its way down the road toward me? THE OAK RIDGE BOYS' TOUR BUS. I stared at it in star-struck amazement until I came to my senses and realized that I could try to take a picture of it with my cell phone. I managed one quick, crappy snap of the @$$-end of it before it was gone:
I felt so famous! It totally made my day! :D
LOL!
