Lilly's End-Of-The-School-Year Field Trip

A couple of days ago, all of the 3rd grade classes at Lilly's school went on an End-Of-The-Year Field Trip to Vogel State Park.  Parents were invited to join their kids for lunch at 12:15 (as long as they brought a dessert with them).  So I whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and away me and Jamie went.

When we got there, some *other* mother gave Lilly a ziploc bag with a couple of chocolate chip cookies in it.  So we sampled the *other* cookies, and sampled mine, and according to Lilly, my cookies were better than the *other* ones, HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!  >:D  Music to a mother's ears!

After Lilly inhaled 2 microscopic crumbs of food, she galloped over to the putt-putt course.  Me and Jamie packed up and followed her.  Lilly was running around all over the place like The Flash, so I never managed to get her to be still long enough for me to take a decent picture of her playing putt-putt, but here's me and Jamie galooting the course:
(I felt like I was on The Price Is Right, doin' that ol' putt-putt game they used to do):

Here's Jamie being psycho on the course:

After we got through playing the course, Lilly spotted a playground nearby, so we ditched putt-putt so Lilly could slide one time:
*too cool for school*
-- literally.  At this point, the field trip was over, but we chose the option of just staying there, while most of the other kiddos had to pile back into the buses and go back to school (the school day was almost over anyway).

After Lilly played on the playground for 3 seconds, she got *bored*, and announced that she wished that she had her bathing suit so she could go swimming (never mind that the water temperature was probably only 60 degrees -- it's never stopped Lilly before).  Knowing that it would lead to this, I casually whispered "I brought your bathing suit".  After the words finally sank in several moments later, Lilly hugged me excitedly, and we skipped off to the lake.  And while Jamie grabbed Lilly's bathing suit out of the car, I took a picture of a couple of geese nearby:

So I took Lilly into the ladies' room to change her clothes, and then we headed out onto the beach.

*crickets chirping*...not a soul on the beach aside from us (because we're the only ones crazy enough to be there)!  >:P

The water was too cold (even for Polar Bear Lilly), so this is as close to *swimming* as she could stand to get:
LOL!

But Lilly still had fun doing handstands, headstands, cartwheels, and just generally messing around at the water's edge:

Lilly didn't *swim* long before she got too cold, freaked out, and we had to leave.

Tomorrow we will embark on another adventure, which I'm not sure I will be able to survive without headache medicine.  What could be so harrowing, you ask?  A PAGEANT.  Yep, that's right.  Wacky, tomboy-ish Lilly is actually obsessed with pageants, thanks to her discovery of  'Toddlers & Tiaras' on YouTube (bleh).  Who knew?  So I decided to let her give it a whirl.  We shall see.  I dread it! I mean...It's gonna be great!

O__o

Stay tuned for the outcome...!
