Well, I Guess Our Little Town is Now Officially On The Map...

Welp, I guess Blairsville is now officially on the map.

We got a Starbucks.

The Starbucks is located just inside the front of the Ingles grocery store.  It opened up a few days ago, and today was the first day I'd been there since it opened, so I got to witness it in operation for the first time.
It cracked me up!  I've never been the type of person to instantly follow the crowd and jump on bandwagons.  I've never even tried Starbucks coffee (other than those little bottled Frappucinos a few times that they've sold off the shelves in stores forever now), so I really have no idea what all the Starbucks hullaballoo is about, and I'm not in a hurry to find out.  I'll stick with my normal breakfast cup of good ol' Dad-style black coffee with just a li'l splash of milk in it, thank-you-very-much.  :)

Anyway, it was just amusing to me to see the crowd of folks all standing there waiting to order their cute li'l mocha-locha-mekka-lekka-hiney-ho lattes (or whatever the heck kind of foo-foo drinks it is that they serve there).  I mean, I was there at like, 6:30 PM, and people were ordering coffee.  I for one, can't imagine drinking coffee at any time during the day other than breakfast (unless you're freezing to death and desperate to get warm, or about to fall asleep and desperate to be awake).  I told Jamie that the people that were drinking coffee that late were 1) going to be up all night, 2) going to be peeing all night, and 3) will have to take a dump first thing in the morning.  (And on a side note, getting fat on all those sugary, doctored-up foofie coffee drinks)!  :/

The funniest thing to me, however, was what we noticed that had been attached to the shopping buggies.  Evidently, to accommodate all the new Starbucks-coffee-drinking-whilst-grocery-shopping patrons, the grocery store had hired someone to haphazardly spot-weld little circles of metal to the fronts of all the buggies, to make convenient impromptu little cupholders for all those Starbucks cups!  LOL!
I guess you can bring a Starbucks to the country, but when you do, expect there to be some hillbilly ingenuity involved somehow!  ;D  {insert banjo music here}!  LOL!!!

Lilly's Dream

This morning, Lilly told me about the dream she had last night:

She said that she was being in a pageant, when suddenly her butt started itching.  She obviously couldn't scratch it because everyone would see, so she told me about her butt-itch, and I then took her out to the parking lot so that she could hide behind our car and scratch her butt.

LOL!

Tastes Like Failure

I guess there might have been something during Lilly's dance class today that she might have had a little trouble with.  When she loaded back up in the car to leave after her class was over, I asked her if she wanted to do her customary thing of going through the McDonald's drive-thru to get a Mighty Kids Meal for supper.

She forlornly replied, "Yeah...and it'll taste like failure".

LOLOLOLOL!!!

*me, pulling up to speaker*
"Welcome to McDonald's, what can I get for you today"?
"I'll take one McFailure with a Sprite, please; no sauce; and it's for a girl"...

LOLOLOLOL!!!

Deana's New Glasses! :D

Luckily (?) the week before Jamie got fired, I finally broke down and made myself an eye doctor appointment, since I was long overdue for one by a couple of years.  I figured since we had eye insurance through Jamie's work, then why put it off any longer?  I absolutely had to have new lenses anyway.  So off I went to see Doctor Badbreath.  It turned out that my prescription didn't change, and I figured (to be thrifty) I'd just get some new lenses and have them installed into the frames that I currently use.  When I told Doctor Badbreath that, he (of course) suggested that I just get a whole new set of glasses, frames and all.  So I figured why not.  It turned out that the insurance would cover up to $130 on a new set of frames.  So that definitely helped narrow the selection down.  My eyes were dilated, so I couldn't see a damn thing, but I still somehow managed to pick out a set of frames that seemed pretty good, so I had them order them up for me.  $163 tax, tag & title later, I was out the door.

I had kind of expected my new glasses to come in sometime last week, but they didn't.  I guess it probably took longer for them to make them since I'm so blind.  But they did finally come in today!  I was so happy!

Holy crap!  Now that I look at them, they totally look like the same damn pair of glasses!  But trust me, in person, the new ones look a lot better than the old ones did.

LOL!  :/
